Bafana Bafana defender Thabang Matuludi on their clash against Zimbabwe: This is a must win game for us

Thabanga Matuludi has described Bafana Bafana’s this evening game against Zimbabwe as a must win encounter.

The Polokwane City defender said this game is a must win given that a victory or a draw guarantees Hugo Broos’ men a last-16 spot.

“Monday’s game is a must win for the team to qualify,” Matuludi said.

Zimbabwe are looking for a win as it will take them to four points having drawn 1-1 against Angola last Friday while Bafana only have three points from their 2-1 victory over the Angolans.

Bafana then lost 1-0 to Egypt, a result which has put their tournament on the back-foot.

Though he is yet to play a game in this 35th edition of the continental showpiece, Matuludi admitted he is learning a lot.

“I’m happy to be part of this team, I’m learning a lot,” he added.

The game starts at 6pm at the Stade de Marrakesh.
