American Atlanta are ready to earn fabulous as for MLS money on the transfer of one of their top talents.

According to The Athletic, the Atlanta club is ready to sell midfielder Thiago Almada to Brazil's Botafogo for $21 million, but the contract also includes bonuses that could bring the deal to $30 million.

The 23-year-old Argentine's transfer from Veles in February 2022 cost Atlanta $16 million. Almada became the first to win a World Cup as a current MLS player, as he was included in the Albiceleste's bid for the tournament in Qatar.

The midfielder's transfer can also be called the second most expensive to reach the championship. The palm of superiority is held by Paraguayan Miguel Almiron, who moved from the same Atlanta to Newcastle for 24 million euros in the winter of 2019.

But, if Botafogo pay all of Almada's transfer bonus, he will be the player with the most expensive exit transfer in the entire history of the league.
