Alianza Icon Mancía Facing Exit Amid Contract Silence

Fresh off their 19th league title, Alianza FC are preparing for the Apertura 2025 with high hopes of back-to-back championships and a solid run in the Central American Cup. But behind the celebratory atmosphere, a cloud of uncertainty looms over the future of a beloved figure. According to Fútbol Centroamérica, veteran center-back Iván Mancía may be on his way out.
Now a free agent, the 36-year-old defender has not received a formal offer to renew his contract. While he remains open to staying, the final decision lies with head coach Ernesto Corti and the club’s management. “So far, total silence,” Velis posted on X, highlighting the lack of clarity surrounding Mancía’s next move.
Injured during the final stretch of the Clausura 2025, Mancía only played six matches and scored once. Still, his legacy with Alianza is substantial: since joining in 2017, he has made 258 appearances, netted 15 goals, and won eight national titles.
As uncertainty drags on, Mancía is drawing interest from across the country. Per Velis, he has four offers—two from central region clubs, one from the west, and another from the east of El Salvador. Two of these are said to be formal and in advanced talks.
Several other key players, including Jonathan Jiménez, Michell Mercado, and Juan Carlos Portillo, are also awaiting clarity on their contract situations.
