AFCON 2025: Morocco Coach Walid Regragui Confirms Achraf Hakimi’s Availability

Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has officially confirmed that Achraf Hakimi will be available for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, easing concerns about the star defender’s participation ahead of the tournament.

Speaking during a Thursday interview, Regragui expressed full confidence in the Paris Saint-Germain right-back’s readiness, stressing that Hakimi remains a key part of Morocco’s plans as they prepare to host AFCON 2025.

“Achraf will play in the Africa Cup of Nations, without a doubt,” Regragui stated.

“We are very positive about his involvement. He has rejoined the team and is preparing well alongside his teammates. As for the specific match or timing, we will keep that information private, but he will be with us, that is certain,” he added.

The 27-year-old has returned to full training with the national team and continues to show encouraging signs in camp. His involvement in team sessions has reassured the coaching staff, who are pleased with his physical condition and overall progress.
