At the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, there is speculation of introducing mixed-team golf competitions, as reported by NBC Golf.

Last season, at the Grant Thornton Invitational, there was an attempt to combine both male and female players. Overall, it received favorable feedback from PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players. Notably, this marked the first mixed competition since 1999. The next aim is to unite golfers at the Olympic Games.

It is reported that these changes may not be implemented in time for the upcoming Olympics; therefore, they are more likely to take effect in 2028 in Los Angeles. In Paris, fans can anticipate traditional separate competitions for men and women.

Regarding specifics, the current plan for 2028 involves men starting on Wednesday instead of Thursday, concluding on Saturday instead of Sunday. Team events could occur on Sunday and Monday. Women will have a practice round on Tuesday and commence their competition on Wednesday.

Sources also suggest that the announcement regarding the merger could potentially occur at the upcoming Masters tournament.

We would like to remind you that for the first time in the history of THE PLAYERS tournament, last year's champion Scotty Scheffler defended his title this year.
