During the New York Knicks’ championship parade, a hilarious moment unfolded involving the team’s guard, Tyler Kolek.
Details: Police officers mistook the basketball player for an ordinary fan who had found himself behind the barrier, and nearly detained him.
Instead of staying on the platform with his teammates, Kolek decided to stroll through the city streets and mingle with fans. It was at that moment, near one of the barricades, that police officers failed to recognize the Knicks player.
According to reports, several club representatives had to explain to law enforcement that Kolek really was a member of the team, not a fan who had rushed up to join the parade’s participants.
The guard himself took the situation in stride and with good humor. Later, he posted on social platform X: “I swear I play for this team, bro.”
During the playoffs, Kolek appeared in 8 of the Knicks’ 19 games, recording 28 points and 53 minutes on court, mostly coming in during the closing stages of already decided contests.
