PSG vs Brest: prediction, head-to-head stats and probable lineups — 10.05.2026
One of the key matches of Ligue 1’s 33rd round will take place on Sunday in Paris, where Paris Saint-Germain host Brest at the Parc des Princes. Fresh from booking their place in the Champions League final, the Parisians return to domestic action with the chance to move even closer to another league title. Here’s my preview and prediction for this clash, with solid reasons to believe in PSG’s success.
Match preview
PSG just came through a grueling week in Europe, but did so with the ultimate reward: Luis Enrique’s side drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich in Germany and, on aggregate, advanced to the Champions League final. An early goal from Ousmane Dembélé, set up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, allowed the Parisians to play pragmatically, and Harry Kane’s late strike could not change the outcome of the tie.
Now PSG must quickly refocus on Ligue 1, where they hold a six-point lead over their nearest challenger. In their last league home fixture, they drew 2-2 with Lorient, and over their last five home league matches, they’ve won just twice. So even with a clear edge in quality, Enrique’s men must avoid any post-Munich complacency.
Brest arrive in Paris at a tough moment: Eric Roy’s side are winless in six straight matches, suffering four defeats and two draws. Last round was especially painful, as the “Pirates” were thrashed 0-4 by Paris and once again exposed their fragile defensive structure.
Still, Brest aren’t facing a relegation crisis - they’re already safe, but sit four points off the top half of the table. The issue is their away form: Brest have managed just two clean sheets in 16 league games on the road this season, and against PSG, such defensive numbers usually mean parking the bus and hoping for a miracle.
Probable lineups
- PSG: Safonov, Zaire-Emery, Zabarnyi, Beraldo, Hernandez, Lee Kang-in, Mayulu, Fernandez, Mbaye, Ramos, Barcola.
- Brest: Coudet, Zogbe, Chardonnet, Diaz, Guindo, Chotard, Manetti, Tousart, Del Castillo, Ajorque, Lascari.
Match facts & head-to-head
- PSG have won 20 of their last 21 head-to-head matches against Brest.
- Brest’s last four defeats to PSG have all come by at least a three-goal margin.
- In the reverse fixture this season, PSG beat Brest 3-0.
- PSG are on a 23-match scoring streak across all competitions.
- Brest have covered the +2.5 goal handicap in 7 of their last 8 Ligue 1 visits to PSG.
- No more than 4 goals have been scored in 7 of the last 8 head-to-heads at PSG’s home in Ligue 1 (3 pushes).
- PSG have taken no more than 7 corners in 6 of their last 8 home league meetings with Brest.
- At least 3 yellow cards have been shown in 6 of Brest’s last 7 away Ligue 1 matches.
Prediction
Luis Enrique will almost certainly rotate his squad after the exhausting Bayern tie, but PSG’s depth means they can maintain a high level even without several starters. Barcola, Ramos and Mbaye can inject fresh energy up front, and with the title in sight and home advantage, the Parisians should stay focused. Brest are simply too vulnerable right now, especially at the back and especially away from home. Roy’s side might try to tighten up after their collapse against Paris, but against a PSG team that exploits space so well, even a rotated lineup should have more than enough to get the job done.
