Worst mark in 40 years! Manchester United have matched a historic Premier League low
Manchester United are enduring one of the worst starts to a season in the history of their Premier League campaign. After six rounds, the team have collected just six points from a possible 18, recording only one victory. According to statistical accounts, the club had not started a league campaign this poorly since the 1986/87 season.
The latest dropped points came in the sixth-round clash with Tottenham. United took a 1-0 lead but were unable to hold on, conceding in stoppage time. Dominic Solanke rescued the London side from defeat as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
As a result, Manchester United's winless run in the league has stretched to four matches. During that spell, the team drew with Everton (2-2), lost to Manchester City (0-1), shared the points with Fulham (1-1) and failed to beat Tottenham (1-1).
In total, after six rounds, the team have six points from a possible 18. The result has intensified the pressure on the coaching staff and prompted fans to voice their frustration with the club's performances ever more loudly.
