Carlos Baleba fulfils dream with Manchester United debut
Signed during the summer transfer window from Brighton & Hove Albion, the Cameroonian international had to bide his time.
Carlos Baleba needed to recover from an injury sustained upon his arrival before he could make his debut. But the midfielder has finally played his first minutes in a Manchester United shirt.
Carlos Baleba came on as a substitute in the second half on Saturday 10 October during the 1-1 draw against Tottenham at Old Trafford in the Premier League. After the match, Carlos Baleba shared his delight on Instagram, despite the result falling short of the Red Devils’ expectations.
“Not the result we were hoping for, but making my debut is a dream come true. Thank you to all the fans for the welcome. I’m so happy to be here.”
Prior to this statement from the Cameroonian midfielder, his manager Michael Carrick had already given his views on the player’s debut.
“I think people expect something new from a new signing, and I understand that. He played well; it was good to have him on the pitch. I think he made a contribution, he certainly did.”
