With Dylan Batubinsika ruled out, Sébastien Desabre calls up Inonga Baka

The Democratic Republic of the Congo will have to manage without one of its defenders who was originally called up for this international break.

The Congolese Football Association has announced that Dylan Batubinsika has sustained an injury and will ultimately be unable to respond to Sébastien Desabre’s call-up. The centre-back, who currently plays for FC Steaua Bucharest, will therefore not feature in the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers or the two-legged international friendly against Uganda.

To cover for his absence, manager Sébastien Desabre has called up Inonga Baka. The defender, who plays for Erbil SC in Iraq, joins the Congolese squad for the remainder of the international break.

The Congolese Football Association has also announced that Paris Maghoma is unavailable. The Norwich City player will be unable to join the squad due to health issues, the governing body of Congolese football explained.

Following their 2-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea on 24 September in the opening match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Kinshasa, the Leopards are preparing for their next match against Zimbabwe. The DRC will face the Warriors on 28 September, during matchday 2.
