Samuel Moutoussamy doubles DR Congo's lead against Zimbabwe

Sébastien Desabre’s side gave the Warriors no chance during the first 45 minutes at the National Sport Stadium on matchday 2 of qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo lived up to their billing in this matchday 2 clash in Harare. The Leopards got off to a commanding start, taking the lead within the first 30 minutes.

Yoane Wissa opened the scoring for the DR Congo in the 30th minute, making it 1–0. The Congolese striker capitalised on a poor clearance by the Zimbabwean goalkeeper to send the ball into the back of the net.

But the Leopards were not content with just the Newcastle striker’s goal. They doubled their lead before heading into the dressing room. Thanks to an assist from Yoane Wissa, Samuel Moutoussamy made it 2–0 in first-half stoppage time.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo got off to the perfect start in this Group E clash on matchday two.
