On the eve of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final, the vice-captain of the Indomitable Lionesses emphasised the importance of public support whilst urging her team-mates to remain focused on their goal.

Cameroon will face Malawi on Sunday 16 August in the final of WAFCON 2026 in Morocco. For this match, which could go down in the history of Cameroonian women’s football, Colette Ndzana is counting on the support of the fans, who could play a vital role.

“The fans are very important to us. Their support gives us strength and motivation in every match. However, our priority remains to stay focused on our objective. We must stay focused on our game plan and not let ourselves be distracted by external factors.

We greatly appreciate the support of the fans, but our mental strength must enable us to stay on course from start to finish. Their support means a great deal, but the most important thing for us is to remain focused, disciplined and fully committed to achieving our objective.”
