The Cameroonian was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper following the Indomitable Lionesses’ historic triumph.

Cameroon have won the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. It is a historic victory for the Indomitable Lionesses, who have lifted the trophy for the first time in their history.

But Cameroon’s achievement is partly down to Michaely Bihina. The goalkeeper made a name for herself with her exceptional performances throughout the tournament in Morocco.

Michaely Bihina particularly distinguished herself in the quarter-final against Nigeria by making a series of decisive saves. In the semi-final, the Cameroonian also thwarted Morocco. In addition to her saves during the match, Bihina saved a penalty in extra time before stopping three attempts by the Moroccan side during the penalty shootout.

By the end of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, Michaely Bihina had kept four clean sheets. It was on the strength of these performances that she was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper.
