WAFCON 2026: Rigobert Song praises the Indomitable Lionesses after their qualification for the final

The former head coach of the Indomitable Lions expressed his pride in the Cameroon women’s team’s campaign.

Rigobert Song praised the resilience and courage shown by the Cameroonian women in reaching the final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

“At the end of the night, you have written one of the finest chapters in the history of our football! My heartfelt congratulations to the Indomitable Lionesses on this brilliant and historic qualification for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2026.”

For the former Cameroonian international, the Indomitable Lionesses have defied the odds by reaching this stage of the competition.

“Whilst no one expected you to reach this stage of the competition, you have shown extraordinary resilience, exemplary courage and an unshakeable ‘Hemlè’. You have just proved once again to the whole world that an Indomitable Lion never dies, it merely sleeps!” ”

Rigobert Song also urged the Cameroonian women to stay focused on the final they will play against Malawi on 16 August.

“The hardest part is over, but the best is yet to come. Stay focused, stick together and roar even louder in this final to bring that trophy home. The whole of Cameroon is behind you.”
