WAFCON 2026: Cameroonian fans denied tickets ahead of the Morocco - Cameroon semi-final?
Cameroon’s ambassador to Morocco, Mohamadou Houssifou, has called on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to address this unusual situation.
With just a few hours to go before the semi-final between Cameroon and Morocco, the host nation of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the issue of ticket access is causing tensions. According to the Cameroonian press, the Cameroonian Embassy in Morocco wishes to purchase 1,000 tickets to enable supporters of the Indomitable Lionesses to attend this eagerly awaited semi-final this Wednesday 12 August at 8 pm GMT at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.
However, Ambassador Mohamadou Houssifou has announced that the ticket-purchasing process is not proceeding as it did for Cameroon’s previous matches in the tournament.
“Unlike other matches, where we were able to buy tickets without difficulty, we have, since this morning, been encountering obstacles in purchasing tickets for the aforementioned match between the Cameroon women’s national team and that of the Kingdom of Morocco.”
Faced with these difficulties, the ambassador has decided to appeal directly to the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
