WAFCON 2026: record prize money for the winner

The champion, to be decided this 16 August in the match between Cameroon and Malawi, will receive a historic financial reward.

The final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will be played this Sunday in Rabat, Morocco. This highly anticipated clash will see Cameroon take on Malawi at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

But beyond the sporting prestige, the continental title will come with a substantial financial reward. The Confederation of African Football has doubled the winner’s prize money.

The team that lifts the trophy will pocket a prize of $2 million, one of the largest ever awarded in women’s international football. This is twice as much as in the previous edition, when the champions received $1 million.
