Another scandalous episode unfolded in the Super Lig match between arch-rivals Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, which ended in a 0-0 draw.

In the second half, during a tussle, the league's top scorer, Mauro Icardi, collided face-first with the goalpost.

Despite the incident being deemed unintentional, Galatasaray demanded a penalty from the referee. Following the game, they posted a photo of Icardi's face post-collision with the text:

"We show what the refereeing team, VAR camera, and 26 cameras didn't see. We are ashamed for them. We hope that someday those who brought Turkish football to this point will feel shame."

Fenerbahce's top scorer, Edin Dzeko, commented on the photo.

“Icardi hit the goal post with his head and they put him on Instagram and cry for the penalty… typical them. Embarassing”

Icardi and Dzeko have each scored 12 goals in the Super Lig this season. Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have accumulated 44 points, with Fenerbahce leading due to a superior goal difference.
