Supporters of Lazio, known for their far-right views, have sparked another scandal.

Bild reports that some of the Eagles' fans gathered in one of Munich's beer bars before the match, where they displayed fascist gestures and shouted chants in honor of the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, who was a fan of the Roman team.

It is reported that at least one misguided fan was detained by local police on the spot. The disorderly conduct offender was released several hours later after paying a hefty fine.

Interestingly, it was in this same cafe that Adolf Hitler held the first major meeting of the Nazi Party.

Displaying Nazi and fascist symbolism and gestures is prohibited in Germany. It is also illegal in Italy, but Lazio fans regularly "distinguish themselves" in this regard.

Earlier, it was reported that the police prevented a major brawl before the Real Sociedad - PSG match, confiscating numerous makeshift weapons from the hooligans.
