Today at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the men's 1500-meter final resulted in a major surprise.

The favorite, Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who won the gold in Tokyo 2020 and set the Olympic record at 3:28.32, finished fourth and missed out on a medal entirely.

Unexpectedly, American runner Cole Hocker claimed the championship, setting a new Olympic record with a time of 3:27.65.

British athlete Josh Kerr took the silver, establishing a new national record for Great Britain at 3:27.79, while another American, Yared Nuguse, secured the bronze with a personal best of 3:27.80.

Yesterday, in the women's 5000-meter race, Kenyan athletes clinched both the gold and silver medals.
