UEFA has issued a statement in response to reports from ISIS regarding potential terrorist acts at UEFA Champions League matches.

As reported by ESPN, the organization is aware of potential terrorist threats concerning this week's Champions League matches and maintains close communication with the authorities at relevant venues. All matches are scheduled to proceed with appropriate security measures in place.

Security measures have been heightened in all countries: in France, there's increased police presence at matches; in Spain, an additional two thousand police officers have been deployed; and in London, a nationwide threat level alert has been announced.

It is worth recalling that channels affiliated with the terrorist group ISIS have released an image with renewed threats by Islamists to carry out attacks during major football events.

This time, the terrorists threaten an attack during the first leg matches of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the 2023/24 season. The image includes photographs of all four stadiums where the games will take place, along with calls for violence.

To recap, on Tuesday, April 9, Real Madrid will play against Manchester City at Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, while Arsenal will face Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium in London. Tomorrow, April 10, Atlético Madrid will take on Borussia Dortmund at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, and PSG will host Barcelona at Parc des Princes in Paris.
