A major incident has rocked the Netherlands national team camp during their preparations for the upcoming fixture.

Details: According to The Touchline, two of the Oranje’s crucial midfielders got into a heated tussle for the ball during a training session, resulting in serious consequences for the coaching staff. The incident involved midfielder Quinten Timber of Marseille and Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, who collided fiercely in the middle of the session.

Reports indicate that Timber suffered a mild concussion from the clash and is officially sidelined for the next few days, with medical protocols strictly barring him from any physical activity.

As for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, his participation in the next match is now highly doubtful. During the fall, Timber’s head struck De Jong in the lower body, leaving the Dutch playmaker in discomfort. Team doctors are continuing to assess Frenkie’s condition, but the coaching staff is likely facing an urgent reshuffle of the team’s central axis ahead of this crucial encounter.

It’s worth noting that tonight, June 20 at 22:00 Central European Time, the Netherlands will play their second group stage match against Sweden.

Reminder: Sweden forward Alexander Isak trained separately ahead of the clash with the Netherlands.
