The Congolese side thought they had doubled their advantage, but the goal was disallowed due to an infringement.
Details: In the 47th minute of the Group D opener at AFCON, DR Congo found the net for what appeared to be their second goal against Benin. However, the referee and the VAR team saw things differently.
Initially, match referee Abongile Tom awarded the goal scored by Bakambu, but after a VAR review, it was determined that a DR Congo player was offside at the moment of the goal. As a result, the goal was chalked off.
This decision gives Benin a lifeline, as the score remains 1-0 in favor of DR Congo.
