UFC president Dana White has shared an update on former champion Conor McGregor’s potential return to the octagon.
Quote: "How long has it been since Conor fought here? If he’s going to fight, it’ll happen sometime next year," said White.
In November, a jury found the MMA legend guilty of sexually assaulting Nikita Hand. The woman accused McGregor of physical and sexual abuse during a Christmas party in a Dublin hotel penthouse in 2018. As part of the judgment, McGregor is required to pay Hand £210,000 in damages.
McGregor has apologized to his partner for his infidelity but continues to deny the assault allegations.
Reminder: The Irishman last fought in 2021, losing to Dustin Poirier and suffering a leg injury. A highly anticipated return against Michael Chandler in June was canceled after McGregor fractured a toe.
Conor McGregor's record
The 36-year-old Irish mixed martial artist has competed in 28 MMA fights. He has claimed victory in 22 of them (22 by knockout, 1 by submission, 2 by decision).
McGregor has also suffered 6 losses (2 by knockout, 4 by submission).
Conor began his professional career in 2008 and made his UFC debut in 2013.
Between February 2011 and December 2015, McGregor achieved a remarkable streak of 15 consecutive victories across various promotions.
Since his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018, McGregor has entered the octagon only three times: he defeated Donald Cerrone but lost twice to Dustin Poirier. His most recent fight against Poirier took place in July 2021.
