The third overall pick of the 2013 draft, forward Otto Porter, has announced his retirement, as reported by the Utah Jazz.

According to the basketball player, he had the opportunity over the past 11 years to fulfill the dream of his life - playing in the NBA. And that dream culminated in winning the league championship.

"Unfortunately, my body does not allow me to play at the level I expect from myself, so I have made the decision to retire," said Porter.

Porter was selected in the first round of the NBA draft in 2013 by the Washington Wizards with the overall third pick. He began his professional career in 2013 playing for the Washington Wizards and represented the team from Washington for the next six seasons. However, he missed most of his first season due to injuries.

On February 8, 2024, Porter was traded to the Utah Jazz along with Khyri Thomas and a first-round draft pick in exchange for Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji. However, Porter did not play any games for his new team. The Jazz waived Porter on March 11, 2024.

In his NBA career, Porter played 527 games, averaging 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
