The International Biathlon Union has postponed the start of the fourth stage of the Biathlon World Cup 2023-24.

The stage will now begin on Friday, January 5, instead of Thursday, January 4. These changes are due to warm weather, rain, and strong winds in Oberhof, Germany. As a result, the men's sprint has been rescheduled for January 5, starting at 11:20, and the women's sprint will begin at 14:25 Central European Time. Other races will proceed according to the original schedule on January 6 and 7.

It's worth noting that the leader of the Italian team, Dorothea Wierer, will miss the next stage of the Biathlon World Cup. Dorothea Wierer finished the third stage ahead of schedule and will now prepare directly for the fifth stage in Ruhpolding.

Prior to this, the traditional Christmas race took place, with Julia Simon and Fabien Claude confidently defending their titles as winners. The silver medals went to Norway's Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Sturla Holm Laegreid, while Slovenian Jakov Fak secured the "bronze" in a close battle with Roman Rees.
