The daring Georgians couldn't stop Spain. La Furia Roja is in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024

On June 30th in Cologne, Spain and Georgia faced off in the Euro 2024 Round of 16 match.

The game started as expected, with the Spaniards controlling the ball and threatening Mamardashvili's goal. After several good opportunities, "La Furia Roja" unexpectedly conceded their first goal of the tournament. Georgia's counterattack ended with a shot from the right flank by Kakabadze, and Le Normand unfortunately redirected the ball into his own net. Towards the end of the second half, Rodri equalized after a prolonged attack, then Williams scored after a devastating counterattack, and Dani Olmo sealed the match.

Early in the second half, Fabian Ruiz put his team ahead. Georgia's fairy tale, making their debut at the European Championships, ended in the Round of 16.

Spain will face Germany in the semifinals for a spot in the Euro 2024. The match will take place on Friday, July 5th.
