Star new signing close to Manchester United debut
Manchester United midfielder Carlos Baleba could make his debut for the team as early as the upcoming match against Fulham. Head coach Michael Carrick said the 22-year-old midfielder is gradually getting back to full fitness after an ankle injury.
“We’re trying to get Carlos back into the squad. In reality, we’re only just integrating him into the group. He’s trained a little this week and, hopefully, he’ll soon be able to work fully with the team. He desperately wants to get started. He’s full of energy and hugely enthusiastic about returning as quickly as possible,” Carrick said.
Baleba joined Manchester United from Brighton in the summer for £65 million, with a further £5 million potentially payable in bonuses. The English club had been interested in the Cameroon international a year ago and finally reached an agreement for his transfer this summer.

However, the new signing has yet to make a single appearance for the team due to ligament damage in his ankle, sustained during pre-season. That situation has now changed. Manchester United will travel to face Fulham on Sunday, 20 September.
