Another Carrick failure! Manchester United drop points against Fulham
Michael Carrick's Manchester United have suffered another setback in the Premier League, failing to beat one of the teams at the bottom of the table.
Details: In Matchweek 5 of the English Premier League, Manchester United travelled to Craven Cottage to face Fulham. Despite creating numerous opportunities, the Red Devils failed to secure all three points, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw. The result extended Carrick's side's winless run in all competitions to three matches.
The visitors created plenty of chances in the first half, registering 17 shots, but only two were on target. Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno kept his team in the game, while the hosts also threatened through their counterattacks. The teams went into the break with the score still 0-0.
The breakthrough came in the 63rd minute following an unfortunate mistake by Manchester United. Senne Lammens saved Calvin Bassey's effort but failed to clear the ball from the danger area. Lisandro Martínez attempted to intervene, only to send the rebound into his own net and give Fulham the lead.
Carrick's men managed to avoid defeat in the closing stages. In the 89th minute, Matheus Cunha found the net to restore parity, but Manchester United could not complete the comeback. The final whistle confirmed another disappointing result for the Red Devils.
It is worth noting that Manchester United have collected just five points from their opening five Premier League matches this season, recording one victory, two draws and two defeats. Their only league win so far came against Ipswich, while the team has also been eliminated from the Carabao Cup following a 3-2 defeat to Brighton.
Reminder: No resignation and no secret plans! Manchester United make final decision on Michael Carrick
