The African coach did not deny his desire to one day return to the Pirates.
Details: Currently out of work, Rulani Mokwena stated that he would gladly consider a return to Orlando Pirates if the opportunity arises.
For the record, Mokwena previously managed Orlando in 2019—stepping in after Micho Sredojevic's departure. Under Mokwena's leadership, the Buccaneers registered 4 wins, 5 draws, and suffered an equal number of defeats.
"Of course. I would consider it. It's a big club, and there are people there close to my heart—someone I love very much, Dr. Irvin Khoza. He will always hold a special place in my heart," Mokwena said.
"I learned from three of the best football leaders on the continent. Dr. Khoza is number one. Patrice Motsepe—what he taught me at Mamelodi Sundowns is incredible. And the third is Hicham Aït Menna. I enjoyed working with the Wydad president," he added.
As a reminder, Rulani’s last club was Wydad Casablanca, which he left in April this year.
