Relebohile Mofokeng: I would also like to move away from Orlando Pirates for an overseas move and Afcon is the right platform to market myself
That Relebohile Mofokeng has not been vocal about a move overseas has made many think the Orlando Pirates player is not interested in a move away from South Africa.
Mohau Nkota left Mofokeng at Pirates for a move to Saudi Arabia.
Mbekezeli Mbokazi has also left Mofokeng at the PSL side for a move to Chicago Fire in the MLS.
But Mofokeng has now revealed his desire to play his football in a different country to South Africa.
“I think if something can be available for me, I can get the chance somewhere in another country,” he said.
“I think it will be a very good move. This tournament is very important in that aspect. When I get a chance, I’ll just have to grab it,” Mofokeng said.
This evening Mofokeng and Bafana face Cameroon in a last-16 match at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
For Bafana to go through to the quarterfinals, Mofokeng highlighted a different mentality.
“I think the most important thing is mentality,” Mofokeng said.
“Even if a person is bigger, the mentality matters the most because if I tell myself that I’m going to get past this guy, I’m going to do it.”
The match starts at 9pm in Rabat.
