Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster believes South Africa were the better team against Cameroon in the 2-1 loss and he still shocked how they they lost
Lyle Foster still cannot believe how Cameroon knocked South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Bafana Bafana marksman said the Indomitable Lions were never dominant in their last-16 match against Bafana and how they won the game is a mystery to him.
Foster’s Bafana lost 2-1 to Cameroon to end their hopes of winning the 35th edition of the continental showpiece having finished third in Ivory Coast two years ago.
“We had early chances, we could have converted but maybe just a bit unlucky,” said Foster on SABC.
“I think we did really well and maybe that played a part in the game. We should have gone up, but we were just unlucky.
“We’re here now, we just need to focus, try and regroup, get together again and try and go over things.”
“We started the game well and tactically, we matched the way they played, we surprised them.
“We were able to create chances. I think we were in the game the whole time and to be honest, all around, we were probably a better team.
“They just scored a goal from nowhere and then another one in the second half which hurts a bit.”
