Cameroon booked their place in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over South Africa in Rabat. Bafana Bafana started brightly and dominated the opening period, with Lyle Foster and Relebohile Mofokeng missing early chances.
Despite the pressure, Cameroon took the lead on 35 minutes when Danny Namaso’s deflected effort fell kindly to Junior Tchamadeu, who finished well. The Indomitable Lions struck again soon after the break as Christian Kofane glanced a fine header into the far corner.
South Africa pushed late and pulled one back through Evidence Makgopa, but Cameroon held firm to set up a quarter-final meeting with hosts Morocco in Rabat city.
