Relebohile Mofokeng: I am used to starting games on the bench and being an impact player for my team so doing it for Bafana Bafana is not a new thing
Relebohile Mofokeng has decided not to take to heart the fact that he has been starting on the bench from Bafana Bafana.
The Orlando Pirates midfielder has been used mainly from the bench by Hugo Broos since the spectacle started in Morocco.
This evening Bafana face Cameroon in the tournament’s last-16 game and Mofokeng is again expected to start from the bench.
But the nippy midfielder has accepted his role saying he is used to it at club level as many players would give the coach a grumpy face for not starting.
‘I think it forces me to become an impact player,” Mofokeng said.
“I have always been an impact player from my club, so I don’t think it can be that difficult for me to get used to being an impact player even here.
“I think I know how to read the game, I know how to change the game I must just get used to doing changing the game here.
“No, I don’t necessarily feel pressure [coming off the bench] but obviously when you are a player who wants his team to win, who wants to change the game there will always be pressure.
“But I don’t think I feel it because I come on when the team is already under pressure.
“So I think I should just help the team so they can get what they want.”
The game starts at 9pm.
