Ready to pay £30 million? Sørloth offered to Premier League giants
Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth. According to CaughtOffside, representatives of the Norway international have approached the English club to gauge their interest in a potential deal. The transfer fee is estimated at around £30 million.
The 30-year-old Sørloth is not keen to leave Madrid but is willing to consider a suitable opportunity to continue his career elsewhere. In addition to Manchester United, the player has also been offered to Newcastle and Juventus.
The Manchester United hierarchy have yet to make a final decision but have not ruled out further attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes. Sørloth could be viewed as a rotation option and additional cover for Benjamin Šeško.
The main obstacle to a potential move remains the price. Manchester United are not convinced they are ready to pay the required £30 million, so they could attempt to negotiate a loan deal instead.
Much could also depend on Joshua Zirkzee's situation. If the Dutchman leaves the club and generates a substantial fee, part of the funds could be used to sign Sørloth.
