Police had to intervene. Portugal fan attacks Jesus after Ronaldo scandal
Portugal returned home after defeating Denmark, but instead of receiving an entirely warm welcome, the team faced an unexpected reaction from supporters. At Porto Airport, one fan launched a verbal attack on head coach Jorge Jesus, Mais Futebol reports.
After spotting the coach, the fan shouted: “You’re not even worth one of CR7’s fingernails. Now go to the press conference and say that you’re the greatest.” Jesus did not react to the provocation and walked on, paying no attention to what was happening. Some of the national team players could not hide their surprise at the incident. Eventually, police had to intervene and ask the supporter to calm down.
Portugal returned home amid the high-profile situation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo. The national team captain unexpectedly left the squad in Denmark after a confrontation with Jesus, sparking widespread public reaction.
It is worth noting that Portugal secured an important victory in their previous match, beating Denmark 4-2. The team’s next Nations League fixture is now on the horizon: on Sunday, Portugal will face Norway at the Dragao Stadium.
