In Saudi Arabia, a project for a new racing track has been unveiled, set to be constructed in the city of Qiddiya. This track is slated to host Formula 1 competitions instead of Jeddah by 2030.
The Speed Park circuit was designed by the legendary Formula 1 track designer Hermann Tilke, along with former driver Alexander Wurz.
A notable feature of the track will be a turn situated at a height of 70 meters, equivalent to a twenty-story building. Additionally, the track will feature sharp elevation changes, with a difference of 108 meters between the highest and lowest points.
"The track will be ready to host globally renowned racing events that appeal to a wide variety of audiences. Overlooked by the formidable Tuwaiq Mountains in Qiddiya City, it will be surrounded by adrenaline-fueled attractions, experiences, and events, providing a fully immersive experience that transcends beyond racing.
Our aim is to provide an unparalleled immersive experience that fans far and wide can enjoy. Coupled with its state-of-the-art technology, the track's unique versatility will ensure spectators can be treated with a ground-breaking motorsport experience unlike any other. This will allow visitors to enjoy complementary offerings on-site and extend their visit beyond the racing experience" said Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company Abdullah Aldawood.
