Orlando Pirates salvages a draw against Siwelele FC at Orlando Amstel Arena which dents their title push as the Betway Premiership race intensifies
Tshepang Moremi saved Orlando Pirates blushes this afternoon when he scored the equalising goal against Siwelele FC.
Moremi’s Pirates entered the Orlando Amstel Arena on top of the Betway Premiership standing and aimed at extending that lead but found a resolute Siwelele FC side who scored first via Vincent Pule.
Pule completed a move from the right to hit a shot from outside the box to beat Sipho Chaine hands down in the Pirates goalposts.
The Sea Robbers are still on top of the table with 48 points, one more than second placed Mamelodi Sundowns who have a game less than Pirates.
This draw would leave Pirates ruing their wastefulness upfront given the number of chances they had to wrap the game.
But credit should also go to Ricardo Goss who was keeping the goals for the visiting Siwelele side as he worked tirelessly throughout the game.
It was him who ensured his side leave Soweto with point in the bag.
