Orlando Pirates home ground in Soweto renamed to Orlando Amstel Arena

Orlando Pirates will host Magesi FC at Orlando Amstel Arena and no longer at Orlando Stadium.

The renaming of the iconic venue in Soweto was announced today at the stadium as the club’s sponsor, Amstel, secured itself the rights to naming their stadium in their name.

This partnership is a five-year agreement between Pirates, Heineken South Africa and Stadium management South Africa.

“A new chapter in the story of Soweto football was unveiled on Tuesday morning as Amstel, the official beer partner of Orlando Pirates Football Club, revealed the new name of the iconic stadium – Orlando Amstel Arena,” the club statement said.

Polokwane’s Magesi FC will be the first team to visit Pirates at their renamed home on Saturday in a Betway Premiership match.
