Orlando Pirates' Tshepang Moremi: There is a huge difference between club football and international football

It looks like the Africa Cup of Nations has opened Tshepang Moremi’s eyes on football.

The Orlando Pirates midfielder revealed the difference in levels football is and how the standard at the recently ended Afcon in Morocco is compared to local football.

"The levels are not the same in the national and the football club. It's not easy in the national team, it's hard because sometimes when you compete with other nations you find that some players are strong physically while in the PSL we all are not that strong,” Moremi said.

“It's not easy but if you prove yourself and show them who you are then things may go your way. When I started, it was really hard but as time went by I learnt where I could capitalize the spaces and benefit from the weaknesses of our opponents but for me, it's not the same."

Moremi revealed that his knack of rising to the occasion put him in a good position when playing football as he did when he was still at Usuthu.

"I think for me when I got here there was a lot of pressure, it wasn't easy but I know that I always give my all, that's why even when I was with AmaZulu I was performing well in each and every game,” he explained.

“So, when I came here it wasn't easy because the pressure is not the same but then as time went by, I knew that I needed to work on my final decision making and yeah, that helped."

He will be in action for Pirates this evening when they face Magesi FC in a PSL match at Orlando Amstel Arena.

The game starts at 6pm.
