Abdeslam Ouaddou on Sipho Mbule and Evidence Makgopa absence at Orlando Pirates: There is nothing wrong as it's just rotating the squad
Abdeslam Ouaddou has moved to note that Evidence Makgopa and Sipho Mbule are still part of the Orlando Pirates set up and nothing untoward as they missed the 2-0 win over Magesi FC.
The Pirates coach has moved to extinguish the fires that something outside the football pitch may have influenced the duos absence at Orlando Amstel Arena.
“It’s simply a tactical choice regarding the profile of the opponent, you know, we have a lot of games coming, especially next week,” Ouaddou said when asked about the two players.
“We are playing AmaZulu, then we have the Nedbank Cup. We are going to play every three days. So it’s very important to manage the players.”
The 2-0 win via Yanela Mbuthuma and Relebohile Mofokeng goals ensured they are back level on points with table-toppers in Mamelodi Sundowns on the Betway Premiership standings.
Pirates have 32 points, same with Sundowns but Sundowns stay top through a superior goal difference and the Brazilians also have a game more than Pirates.
In midweek, Pirates will face the high-riding AmaZulu in a PSL match and that game will be crucial in this title chasing teams as a win will see them leapfrog Sundowns on the top spot.
