The 2026 Men’s World Cup kicks off next June, and while the U.S. will host the majority of matches — 78 of 104 across 11 venues — many questions remain unresolved. The opening match is set for Mexico City, with Canada hosting 13 games across Toronto and Vancouver.

As The Washington Post reports, U.S. cities are seeking $625 million in federal security funding, but immigration policies, including Trump’s travel ban, raise concerns about fan access. FIFA, however, insists that visitors will be welcomed.

Ticket details remain under wraps, though dynamic pricing is being considered. NFL stadiums will be adapted for soccer, including replacing turf with grass. The full match schedule, beyond the opening games, will be drawn in December.

On the pitch, the U.S. men’s team isn’t building much optimism. After a poor Copa América and last-place Nations League finish, new coach Mauricio Pochettino has limited time to prepare. With eight friendlies ahead, the Americans have one year to solve key issues — or risk underwhelming again on home soil.
