Munich's Bayern pulled off a stunning comeback in Matchday 28 of the Bundesliga, defeating Freiburg away 3-2 after trailing 0-2 as late as the 81st minute. A Bishof brace and a goal from Karl completed the turnaround, securing another victory and bringing the team within touching distance of a milestone record.
After 28 matches in the 2025/26 campaign, Bayern have already netted 100 goals, leaving them just one shy of equaling the legendary record. For reference, the all-time Bundesliga record for goals in a single season also belongs to the Munich powerhouse—Bayern scored an incredible 101 times in the 1971/72 season.
This record has stood for over half a century. Now, the current generation of Bayern players has every chance not just to match, but to surpass this historic benchmark. It's worth noting that Bayern have come agonizingly close before: in the 2019/20 season the team scored 100 goals, and in 2020/21 they found the net 99 times.
Bayern traditionally dominates the list of the Bundesliga's most prolific teams, and this season once again underlines the attacking firepower of the Munich club, which continues to set the standard for efficiency in German football.
With six matches still to play before the Bundesliga season wraps up, breaking the record seems only a matter of time. If this scoring trend continues, the 2025/26 campaign could go down as one of the most electrifying in Bundesliga history.
