Liverpool have made an official bid to sign RB Leipzig winger Jan Diomande.
Details: The English club is ready to pay €90 million as a fixed amount, plus an additional €10 million in bonuses for the Ivorian footballer.
According to The Athletic, the Reds have stepped up negotiations and improved their previous offer. The total value of the deal could approach €100 million, but that still wasn't enough for the German club.
Leipzig has already rejected Liverpool's proposal and has no intention of letting Diomande go for that sum. The club is hoping to extend the winger's contract, increase his salary, and revise the release clause.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in the player. The French club has yet to make an official offer and is waiting to see what decision Diomande himself will make. Reports say that, in terms of personal contract conditions, PSG currently lags behind Liverpool.
Thus, the English club remains in a strong position, but the deal is still far from done. Leipzig may only reconsider their stance if an offer in the region of €120–130 million comes in.
Reminder: Earlier we reported that Liverpool completed their first transfer of the summer by signing a young Spaniard.
