Official: England international joins Inter
Inter have officially announced the signing of Tottenham and England national team defender Djed Spence. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the English footballer will continue his career with the Milan club, with the transfer fee set at €35 million.
The agreement with the 26-year-old Spence runs until June 2031. By sealing the deal early, Inter have secured a player expected to strengthen the right flank of their defense, injecting pace and versatility into the squad.
Spence is a Fulham academy graduate, but truly made his mark at the professional level with Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest. It was his performances for the "Tricky Trees" that caught the eye of top English clubs, leading to his move to Tottenham in the summer of 2022.
In the London club, the defender struggled for consistent playing time, prompting loan spells at Rennes, Leeds, and Genoa. These stints allowed him to gain valuable experience and regular minutes across various leagues.
Now, Spence is returning to Italy on a permanent basis. Inter are counting on his versatility and experience to bolster their ambitions both domestically and in European competitions.
