As previously reported, experienced Real Madrid forward Joselu will leave the club this summer. It is now known where he will continue his career.
It was initially expected that Joselu would join a club in the Saudi Pro League. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish striker is on the verge of transferring to Qatari club Al Gharafa.
The financial details of the deal and Joselu's contract with Al Gharafa remain undisclosed.
It is worth noting that Joselu was playing for Real Madrid on loan from Espanyol. Madrid had the option to buy the player, and Carlo Ancelotti wanted to keep him in the team, but Joselu decided to start a new chapter in his career.
In the recently concluded season, the 34-year-old striker mostly came off the bench, yet managed to score 17 goals in 40 matches. His most crucial goals for Real were the two he scored in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, which secured Madrid's place in the final.
Joselu is a product of Real Madrid's youth system. Over his career, he has also played for Newcastle, Stoke City, Hannover, Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt, Alavés, Deportivo La Coruña, and Celta Vigo.
