Andrés Iniesta, who ended his playing career in 2024, may soon return to football in a new capacity. The legendary midfielder is currently in Rabat, where the Moroccan Football Federation is considering him as one of the key candidates to integrate into its long-term sports project, according to the Spanish newspaper AS.

The former Barcelona star will attend the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations, which is set to kick off in just a few minutes. Reports indicate that Iniesta is now planning to obtain his coaching license or try his hand as a sporting director, staying active in professional football.

It's worth noting that Moroccan football is experiencing the best period in its history. After reaching the World Cup semifinals and launching an ambitious development program backed by King Mohammed VI, the football federation is eager to strengthen the project with world-class figures.

Additionally, the 2030 World Cup will be hosted by the African nation in partnership with Spain and Portugal. Rabat hopes the tournament's final will take place in Morocco, and Iniesta's involvement in the national project is seen as a crucial step toward achieving that goal.
