Milan and Como could play a Serie A match in Australia

Hosting league matches abroad is an idea that has been simmering in top European competitions for quite some time. And now, it seems we might finally have a trailblazer ready to make it happen.
Details: According to The Athletic, Italy’s Serie A is in talks to stage a match between Milan and Como in Australia. Why this particular matchup? The reasoning is straightforward.
The game is scheduled for February 7-8, 2026, but on those dates, San Siro will be unavailable due to the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games. Both Milan and Inter, who share the iconic stadium, are set to play at home on the opening weekend of the season, facing Cremonese and Torino respectively. This scheduling aims to ease the fixture congestion in Milan during the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in February.
Worth noting: Earlier reports indicated that Milan have identified Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko as a replacement for Theo Hernandez.
