Mexico vs Panama: One-Sided Rivalry Ahead of Nations League Final

Mexico and Panama will face off this Sunday in the final of the CONCACAF Nations League, and the history between the two marks a clear advantage for the Aztec team. In 27 encounters, El Tri won 19 times, drew six, and only fell on two occasions. Additionally, the Mexicans scored 49 goals and conceded just 15.
The matches were divided among qualifiers, Gold Cup, friendlies, and the Nations League itself. According to Olé, in this last competition, Mexico maintains a perfect score: they won all four matches they played against the canal men. In the Gold Cup, however, Panama achieved their only two victories, both in 2013.
The most memorable match for its difference was the 7-1 that Mexico handed to Panama in 2000, the most lopsided result in the history. With this background, El Tri arrives as the favorite for the decisive duel at the SoFi Stadium, where they will seek to end the United States' streak of titles in the Nations League.
