Manchester United defender could move to Saudi Arabia
The contract of French defender Raphaël Varane with Manchester United expires at the end of the current season, and the club does not rule out the possibility of extending it on favorable terms. The player himself hopes to avoid a repeat of last year's situation with David de Gea. Back then, the goalkeeper failed to reach a new agreement with the "Red Devils" and remains a free agent to this day.
According to reports from 90min, several clubs from Saudi Arabia, including Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr, have shown interest in the 30-year-old player.
In this case, Al-Ittihad is considered the closest to signing the defender and is preparing an offer of €30 million per season for the player. It is reported that the Arabian club has already made contact with Varane's agents to discuss all the terms.
Additionally, another club from the Middle East wishes to sign the footballer, namely Al-Shabab. However, this option is considered rather unlikely, as both Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr are controlled by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and in most cases, it is the company that makes the final decision on which club to send the new player to.
