Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper Ronwen Williams had a chance to etch his name into football history at the Club World Cup. However, it's doubtful the player himself is too thrilled about it.

Details: FIFA recently introduced a new rule stating that goalkeepers cannot hold onto the ball for more than eight seconds. If the keeper exceeds this time limit, the referee awards a corner kick to the attacking team.

This rule was actually enforced for the first time at the Club World Cup, during the showdown between Mamelodi Sundowns and South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai, with Williams at the center of attention.

For the record: Several other historic milestones were set in this match. For instance, Mamelodi Sundowns defender Divine Lunga became the first Zimbabwean ever to participate in the Club World Cup, while the team made history as the first African side to claim victory at the prestigious tournament.
